Established in lockdown 2020
Lockdown 2020/21…we all stayed home. It gave us the opportunity to sit back and discover hobbies and interests that we didn’t usually have the time for. Katie missed drawing and painting, so one evening sat with daughter Molly around the kitchen table and gave her control over the subject matter! Molly, who loves all animals equally and wants to be a vet when she grows up said that she didn’t think it was right that only the pretty animals got painted and decided that a woodlouse would be a worthy subject. This idea then expanded into some pretty curious animal pairings starting with ‘House Mouse and Woodlouse’, ’Goose and Moose’ and ‘Sloth and a moth. From this, Animoo Art was born!
Initially Kate painted using acrylic paints but decided to have a go with watercolour and loved its unpredictability and the blending you can achieve. Working with a fine liner after painting works so well when trying to create fur and the finer details making the style illustrative.
It gives Kate & Amie a huge sense of pride to sell the creations and know that someone somewhere has one of our prints hanging in their houses.

Friends and partners in crime for over 30 years. If you need something doing, email Amie, not Katie. But don't ask her to paint or create anything as you'll be bitterly disappointed, she's the organised (not artistic) one!
